Tanna (2015)

Well, it is actually an Australian and Vanuatu co-production, and competed for Australia in awards, since it is very rare to see a Vanuatu production, I list this beautiful film under Vanuatu.
Set on a remote Pacific island, covered in rain forest and dominated by an active volcano, this heartfelt story, enacted by the Yakel tribe, tells of a sister's loyalty, a forbidden love affair and the pact between the old ways and the new.

Nominated for Best Foreign Movie in Oscars; lost to Forushande / The Salesman (Iran).

Won Best Cinematography and International Critics`Week Award in Venice Film Festival.
